Innovation!

At Medical Devices, knowledge of new materials and development of active agents in association with knowledge of human physiology and human illnesses are perquisites for development of innovative and promising products.

Examples of these are catheters, vascular implants, stents and wound plasters. These are impregnated with pharmaceutical substances, thus reducing infections, preventing undesirable cellular growth and accelerating the healing process.

Bayer Innovation GmbH is also involved with innovative herbal pharmaceuticals (PMP: Plant made Pharmaceuticals). This type of technology uses plant proteins in the production of therapeutically effective substances.
